Hi Keith,
I got loads out of your tutorials and was really interested in the one that you did with the pendulum wave, which I always meant to go back to look at at a later date, but then discovered had disappeared. Is this something you might repost at some point? I really enjoyed the way you'd explain your whole process beginning to end, including the source of your inspiration. Thanks for putting them up in the first place, in any case

Wow, thanks so much for taking the time to look at it - and so quickly! I would never have thought to look at the vex code generated from the vop, but shall carry that forward to next time.
Thanks again for your wiki page too - it's opened up a world of fun and feels like it's made things attainable that I thought would take years to get a handle on.
All the best,
Toby

I've just been looking at your examples, mestela, and the info on Houdini is the most amazing resource and such a help to making vex seem accessible - thank you for sharing what you know!
I have been trying to get instanced packed geo to rotate around the object normals using your vex example, with your examples of converting a matrix3 to a quaternion, but without much luck. After digging a bit on the subject, I found in the sidefx halloween tutorial that this is to do with the order of transformation, which he resolves in VOPs by using an align node with an up vector and the normals.

I was just curious whether you knew if this was easy to achieve in vex wrangles - obviously it's not too much effort to use the vops option, but I love the idea of trying to do more in vex.

Ah! I've just sorted it - downloaded a trial of a screen adjustment app and had to make both the macbook monitor and the screen monitor the same aspect ratio and it seems to then function fine. Hope this helps someone else.

Aha! Thanks so much for your reply - I hadn't even considered that. I'll start researching in that direction then. Really grateful for your help. Many thanks

It would be amazing if anyone has any insight into this as I haven't found any other reference to this issue and can't think what it could be.
Since getting Houdini 15, I have had trouble with using it on a second monitor. I'm working from the highest spec MacBook Pro Retina and have it attached via HDMI to an 1920x1080 monitor. I have the latest version of OS X and have tried with two entirely separate laptops, screens and cables but to no avail. I had no issues with H14, so I imagine it's something to do with the higher res UI with H15, but beyond that have no idea where to start. I've also tried adjusting the display settings for both monitors and the UI resolution within Houdini preferences.
It seems to affect not only the GL display but also the other panes. Attached are two screenshots showing the result, in case that gives any clues.
If anyone has any pointers then I'd be immensely grateful!
Thanks in advance!

Thanks so much for both responses! I'll try as you say, Skybar, and create my own for the time being.
